Bedayat was proud to host Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA) and Area 2071 at The Sustainable City on Tuesday 6th April. Visiting Bedayat was a cohort of 11 companies selected by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) to participate in The Global Startup Program hosted by Dubai Future Accelerators (DFA) and Area 2071. The focus of these companies are industries such as blockchain, EdTech, digital twins, social networking, MedTech, renewable energy, Agri-tech, AI and digital lost property platforms.
The visit to The Sustainable City was a great opportunity for the cohort to get a look and feel of the city, and to better understand how The Sustainable City and Bedayat provides a living lab experience which currently hosts a variety of pilot projects in sustainable solutions. The team navigated the city in electric buggies and visited key checkpoints including the biodomes, the Alesca life indoor farming container, the green spine and one of the villas.
Following the site visit, a pitch series conducted by Bedayat for the Italian delegation to pitch to employees from Bedayat, SEE Institute, and Diamond Developers – the developers behind The Sustainable City. Within the pitch series a lot of learning took place, and ideas were generated around how the solutions being pitched could potentially be part of a pilot project that Bedayat would coordinate with The Sustainable City. Pitches were delivered from five Italian- based companies focusing on different topics such as food, soil health, building and planning tools, community management and energy. The companies who pitched included BioPic, Symbiagro, Strategic BIM, UOSE and MIEEG.
